Allyson Felix Came, Saw and Won

Meeting Director Ivana Brkljačić asked an interesting question a few weeks before the Zagreb Meeting in the Olympic year of 2012: „Which female athlete would you really very much like to see in Zagreb this year?“ The answer presented itself as it was a few days after the end of the Olympic Games in London, at which Allyson Felix had won three gold medals: in the 200m, and in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

So we saw the phenomenal US runner in Zagreb. Although exhausted at the end of the strenuous season, she announced and ran another good race in the Mladost Stadium. She won the 200m in 22.35, setting a new meeting record, and went home to get some rest.
